I'm not big on the venison Tony. I do enjoy the hunt, but I also don't find hunting for meat very challenging at all. As far as backstrap if done right it is good .

And here's the stump just left of the bonfire pit, the thing on top is a carrot stick my daughter put there which I shot in half, pretty sure I could have some venison pretty easy this fall, and those little ones look real tender .

    Good evening BL.
Made it up to 66 today :cold::lol:, it was pretty nice out.
I call flying time travel . My theory is God give us a certain amount of things to do while we're here, if we try to speed up the process we get sick(not that getting sick is always a persons fault) and it takes as long as it would have without the time travel. I do enjoy time travel though :).
I like the design of that building, looks like a big garage to me :D.
Pretty sure if there was a place like that right by my house I would need gas all the time .

You are correct, the only one I harvested from the retirement farm was a young buck who volunteered. Tender & tasty come to mind.
Got a trouble that may have been caught in the timely manor. 6 feet or so from unclemoustache property are 2 36" x 9 foot sycamore logs. I can mill them, but the front bearings are informing me they need attention 1st.
That was a good startle; chipmunk just ran by within 3 feet.
Front bearing giving out is subject to a greater level of excitement IMHO, than that rear. And the claimed weight of green sycamore is less than oak but still enough to require at least 3 trips if the total ends up coming back here.
    Rest easy topsiders

hi chipper. in for the day! thot about you and your 70F this eve as I mowed and could feel a bit of coolness in the air. nice! but I still worked up a bit of a sweat...

well, I have my thoughts on deer hunting, too!. nice you prefer to keep the camp deer. for me deer hunting was always hiking the high mountains and valleys with my dad. up before the crack of dawn, cold out, not happy, wished I was home in bed, and sitting on face of a big slope as the sun began to show its face... and looking into the early dawn for movement. down here a lot of deer hunting is from a blind. and they put out deer feeders. so the deer come in to feed... free bbq sort of thing! and then... 'the hunters' take what I call sucker shots! I mean, how can they miss! I am not into that kind of hunting... and to me that is not hunting!! ~

however, having flown over a lot of Texas by air... I have seen many herds. many deer. and in some places... they are numerous. too numerous. and they can destroy farmer's crops. in such cases and in humane manners, I am ok with culling the herd... so long as the meat is not wasted.

    merely my 2-cents!

pretty good shot! of course, I wonder how far away you was.... and scope or open sights... ? and .270 or 30-06, etc... .22 maybe? lol. put a washer up, place pce tape over it... and put a 30-06 thru it at 100 yards! ;) post that hole in one up! i'd be in jail if I shot carrots in town with anything other than a .177/.22 air rifle! yup!

    j/k chipper. nice shot!
