hi RAY - the drives on the rear walk behinds, self-propelled are indeed complex. no fun to change and replace the 2 drive belts. not a crescent wrenh level task. have done it numerous times and each time a real PITA! especially if mower on the ground and not on a work table. but they mow well and clean up the cuts, etc very nicely. drive design is still being used today after many years out in field. they have cheapened it up a bit now adays... original style drive wheel only avail on the comm'l models. residential uses a pastic like disc. you, too... have a nice day.

46f out currently. almost 70f later on... lows in the mid 40's...

I slept thru it, but the QB awoke around 4:30 am this morning to a loud explosion. just seemed to rumble on n on... went back to sleep thinking thunder. but soon daughter in NC contacted us... 'you all ok!!?' :surprised3: yes, why?...

massive ! explosion on the W side of town this morning. propylene gas leak in local area shop went off! big boom and a nasty, destructive pressure wave! really big fire!! really tore the area up... homes hit, blast blew in front doors and right on thru out the back end of homes. evacuations galore. many, many homes all but moved off their foundations. or close. walls, sheetrock, insulation, studs, etc. real bad. but not many hurt. responders all over the place.

sky lit up, could be seen 10 miles away... blast heard as far a way as 40 miles!

can you just imagine? cold out, in the 30's... you are sleeping soundly!~ and in a moment... Ka-BOOM! the house starts to come apart. no doubt puts resident in shock... many were... then bit later sirens all about the place... you are thinking :wtf: - WWIII?... and cops going down the streets house to house... banging on doors, enforcing evacuation. all that, cold out, you are out in it, still dark... and no hot :drinkingcoffee:  debris field half mile wide! :(

definitely the top story here in our area this morning... prob be on your national news later on.

Good morning all, 20° at chores time and cloudy. Warming up to 41° they claim by the afternoon. Guess I can go out and do something. I do have a greenhouse door to make for Wifey. The one on it is 15 years old and not very air tight. I bought some 2 x 4's , only because I don't have any lumber cut at this time and she wants a new door. What the Queen wants, the Queen gets !!!. I must obey the queen. :dumb:
By not working too hard yesterday, I saved up enough energy to at least bowl my average last night and save 4 points for the team. 1 point for each game you win + 1 point for total wood. My partner was happy, it doesn't take much to make him happy. A steady supply of Labatts and a slice of pizza, the rest is gravy. Time to go outside and do something. Play safe out there.

Peanut butter and Snapper mowers,,, great thread we got here!!! PB and Bacon is one of my favorites,,, and 20-30 year old Snapper mowers are my go to grass cutters!!! The idiots around here put them out in the trash after a year or two, all they ever needed was a carb diaphram,,, but they don't use em anyway, bunch of new, young folk that just hire a landscaper.... pretty lazy for less than 1/4 acre lots, eh!!!!?

    Good evening George.
How did you ever come up with that, I must admit it sounds :baba:, but I like each one of those ingredients individually :sweet:.
All this talk about peanut butter means I'm getting my personal jar of Jif extra crunchy so I can participate in this national celebration:lol:.
    Nice job @farmer steve :p.
