For the past 7 days my wife & finally myself, have been trying to catch this cat that looks to have been let-loose or abandoned in the nature preserve that
is near us. Winter is not far away & this property has fox & the occasional coyote .
It's in good shape & will come close to us, so not feral. No collar, but is may have a chip(which all animals are required to have that will reveal its owner)

We called animal control & they came out last Friday & tried for an hour to lure it close enough so that it can be caught.
Since the land is the city's, no traps are allowed.

Yesterday it was eating food off my wife's hand...alas no cat carrier. We did buy one shortly after that & came back, but it was not there.
So we will keep trying for awhile, bringing it food every time.

Kudos to Mrs. SA who was able to nab this little guy by the scruff of its neck & with my help stuff him in the cat carrier.
This shot was taken at the Humane Society, a final farewell. Our Humane Society does not euthanize animals. The cat will either live out its days there or be adopted.

Morning folks ! 33 f heading to 43 f today partly cloudy and the 5 yr old Bull is hanging in the reefer trailer. We had some fresh backstrap and tenderloins in onions and garlic along with toasted sourdoe bread last night on the barbecue with potatoes and carrots . There is another big Bull pushing a couple cows and a large calf that my Son,s are tracking as I type lol. We currently have 3 inches of crusty snow on the ground which is helping with keeping the tracking much easier . I am about to head out and start calling at the head of a large pond , just North of where the boys are set up , should draw the moose right into them if all works out . Battery getting low so adios for now !

Was it an illegal cat Mark or was it tagged lol.
Surprised you didn't take it to your place .
Maybe you can get a job at the boarder, but then again if the powers that be have their way the wall will be tore down. We haven't heard much about the progress of the wall lately, have we .

Good morning all, 50° and raining again. Animals are fed and watered, humans have eaten and coffee is kaput. Spent the day doing yard work for Wifey. Leaf blowing and boiler maintenance, (she was hitting 240° and steam was coming out of the kitchen faucet, yikes), The fan flapper did not close properly and was letting the boiler naturally asperate. I was wondering why I hadn't heard the fan come on, now I know. A new return spring and I hope we're good to go. Temps back down to 180° this AM. At least I didn't scald myself in the shower last night, I could of looked like a lobster. Not much chance of outside work today but I do have an electrical problem to fix. I best get to it before something else breaks down. Play safe out there.

But maybe I should. Did a grease service on the skid steer. Got ready for a day of saw milling. Jump in the skidsteer. Dead battery. "Always something..." will be on my gravestone.

hi SeMoT - wasn't the case for me yesterday! that 30% rains chance caught up with me mid afternoon... and I got soaked! was moving firewood front yard to stack on woodpile. just kept at it... 'cause if I went in, doubt I would have returned. worth the effort... all cleaned up. cut wood for several hours... but still have some chunks to split...

Quite the opposite actually. Took 4 hours total. First called alternator specialist in another town another 100km west. He said would be cheaper to buy off the shelf since I am not nearby. Went to CanTire in nearest town 35 km north. Into store (under Covid regulations no less) and +30yr experienced mechanic could not find a match after 10 minutes. Drove to NAPA, young man behind counter never seen one like it before. Another 10 minutes, tried match numbers but could not. Ended up driving to specialist, through 35km of highway road construction, I put the alt on the counter and he said, "Oh yeah, that number #14567". Walked out back and produced the exact alt. Drive back home in an hour, and had the alt on in about 5 minutes. Had to add a washer as a spacer though. The gap to the mounted bracket was not near as tight as the old one. Turned it on and it was reading 14V. Good enough for me. By this time, I walk in the house and supper is on the table. So I can't complain.

quite the odeal, it sounds like! 14v should make a 12v batt happy...

Good morning . Got down to 34 this morning, it's 39 now, heading to 52. We are now on a warming trend, talking about low 70s by the end of the week. Looks like I may get my pressure washing done then. May do the leaves again and split some wood, but no big plans today which I'm sure will change. Have a great day.

hi chipper - saw that on 10 pm news/weather last nite. the front has dipped far south. made it to Dallas and stalled. now we have to wait a week or more is the prediction... 34f

10 and rain. Ended up working through a light rain yesterday and got three takedowns done, ended up being a good day. Might start soon and see if we can trim a whack o' branches off a client's roof. Not sure yet. Covfefe. Good Morning Everyone!

good pix! a new life for that kitty, bypassing all the fun over at the SA Ranch. hopefully a new home soon. pix makes the bars look like cattle panel sections! I bet the kitty thought so, too! lol

'morning - 81/83. busy day yesterday... work work work! got a lot done. plenty more to do... firewood cut and stacked, but none split... yet. dinner was great! cured my mesquite grilling center's grates last nite. mr Brutus had a pot full of perfect cooking coals. I couldn't resist. NY Strip dinner done over hot oak coals... w/baked spud and tasty fresh okra - some mighty good eatin' ! no leftovers!!

it broke and I got the freshly sharpened cutting blade about 1" into my hand cutting the string to my thumb.

My old doc said to me about one of my complaints - I have an ol' man as patient, and all he does is to curse life grinning and complaining..
In the end it's all about how you take it, how you want your life to be... ?

Must be mri season . Just got back from Neurosurgeon appt. with the wife . She has C-3 & C-4. disc space narrowing from a occupational neck injury , which is being further aggregated by the aging process lol. Prognosis to wait a few yrs and maintain physio and muscle relaxants . She just finished both hip replacements in the last 3 yrs . No fun getting old , had both my hips done 10 yrs ago , steady as we go !

Ouch , speedy recovery bud ! My oldest Son is a builder , during his apprenticeship he cut the back of his right hand to the tendons with a masonry grinder . Same scenario , he today in his 40,s still does everything however , cold weather bothers his hand . He got off lucky could have been much worse .

Yea, I complain about some cut in my hand while at the other side of the world someone looses their hand or arm or a leg. Put's things in perspective doesn't it?

Be careful with sharp things though fellas!
It may change your life... not necessarily to something a lot worse - but perhaps to something slightly different.

Afternoon folks ! Grand Slam !! We got the Cow and Calf . We're tagged out . I made 3 calls and my Son radioed to me that he heard action from the ridge line heading down to the pond . Within 20 minutes the Big Bull strutted out into the clearing before the creek which runs into the head of the pond . Having already tagged our quota for bulls , I hoped the cows were nearby . About 5 minutes later my other Son radioed that he heard a bull calf grunting , within another 5 minutes out walked a Cow with Calf . Bingo my Son & Daughter had their 1st Moose ! Another successful Moose Hunt . Now the work begins again lol.

You and me both! Was at the web tween here and the hereafter in 1972, mid April. This time in '72 was just out of hospital , wasting time in transition barracks San Diego, Navy. Think I outa be done soon , but an 81 yo manj tells me I'm liable to last as long as he has.
