Thanks for the pics. Would not opt for the anchor on the ridge line with this style roof. Single 150 foot rope should do. Fairly simple harness, a triple locking carabiner, and a gri gri.

Take an old glove filled with sand, tied to a kite string (sans kite) and throw glove over roof. Then tie string to rope and pull it over. Tie to tree, tractor, or whatever (take keys with you if a vehicle) and you are almost ready. You "tie in" on the ground at the bottom of the ladder, and go up one or two rungs to TEST YOUR SYSTEM. (Gri gri will not hold if rope fed the wrong way) Get very familiar by going up one more step and then down a step at a time back to ground. As you head up to top of ladder, and all the while on roof, you MUST keep the slack out of the rope. That way the furthest you fall will only be a foot or so. I would start by going to the ridge and placing a piece of carpet or cardboard or something over the ridge and under the rope so slight movement of rope would not cause wear on either rope or tile. (Esp. rope)

If you go with say, New England safety blue 16 strand arborist rope, it will be a bit stiff going through the gri gri, which will work very well in this application. Many smaller diameter/other styles of rope and gri gri will not perform the same. You will be keeping constant tension on rope so should work well for you. To have someone with experience either in trees or rock (top roping or lead climbing) to give you pointers would not be a bad thing...
