Yea, I know, not the greatest one ever built, but needed a back up saw for my husky 51, got it cheap, bar has minimal wear and had a brand new intake boot installed, but fast forward to the current issue,

Anyone have a site besides eBay where I can find replacement clutch shoes for it? One came apart the other night tuning it, and since it runs decent, and I'm into it for less than $100 might as well make it workable, if not, I'll run with just 2 out if the 3 till it smokes those off

Hey let's not knock the old Homelites!
For a 54cc saw it's not that bad.
Just like my XL-123, I cleaned her up and did the usual fuel lines and OEM carb kit and she is just as good as any newer saw.

I ordered the carb kit from randy's small engine, and a new oem carb gasket, replaced the needle and all that, but kinda werid how the new carb parts, some where plastic that covered the holes in the carb, my buddy got it to idle again, but waiting on clutch so we can actually tune it out right, I did open up the muffler a bit as well, I do have a craftsman 42cc saw we're experimenting with, I ordered a new jug and piston for that, pretty sure the guy rain straight gas few tanks from the damage I'll have to find pictures of that, it's the reason I got the homelite, needing a second saw since my husky had killed two recoil springs

This is piston from the craftsman, I'm impressed it even ran, and picture of the homelite 330 with my husky and a jonsered 490 I bought few weeks back, the silver refreshment can is test fuel for saw

I try to use only OEM kits for my saws and this little bugger is also a known issue with several models Homelite that use it. It's the carb boot and it will usually turn to bubblegum and rot away causing plenty of problems. If you're going to do the carb and fuel lines this is a definite preventive measure.

Yup, already was done prior to me getting saw, took the saw down to confirm and redid fuel lines at that time as well
