Im building a 5' x 3' cedar hot tub and i want to see what everybody has for ideas on an efficient wood water heater (homemaid) im a pretty good fabricator so throw some ideas my way!!! I will be burning my short cutoff pieces from my firewood business. id like to get the water to 115 degrese. what do you think about steam opperated bubblers that would in turn heat the water. im gonna post some pics when im building the tub and stove part.

I saw some that where made with the firebox hanging on the side and the flue gases went thru tubes that were submerged. this box was set in a enclosed area of the tub away from the ocupants. I know the mental picture is probably real fuzzy. I wil see if I can come up with a pic. My Dad was going to build one and never did.

Then, there are the external heaters, which I was looking into recently.

Please let us know what you end up building, and how it works. I am sure there are others interested. I know that I have lots of wood and a high electric bill in the winter trying to heat my fairly small hot tub.

oh, im only wanting to get it to about 102 degreese but i would like a 115 max temp..... ya ,115 would be almost cooking you alive and yes i do know that warm temperatures are dangerous for extended periods ( found this out the hard way, passed out in a friends hot tub)
