It's stunning how so many people (including myself) are unprepared for prolonged isolation from our normal day. It exposes our weaknesses and reminds us how fragile we are. It shows us how we need to diversify everything so we are not dependent on one source for life saving goods.
Many are forced to live day to day and pay check to pay check and can't afford to stock up on supply's.

Here price per cord is kinda not relevant in that it can fluctuate so much. My record to date was $1100 for a mixed load of Pine and Oak delivered two hours away. Deals like that come up now and then. At the time we had two feet of snow and my son called and said his client needed some wood delivered before Christmas. He did not hesitate just said a check will be waiting. On a more normal basis the going price has been $600 to $800 for a cord of decent Oak per cord. About 75% of customers ask for a pickup or 1/2 cord and do not ask about prices. When the snow melts then people start wanting to know how much every thing will cost. Right now the average price for Pine has been $350 a cord. What can one say when there are so many guys with pick ups that throw loose piles in their beds that maybe have 1/4 cord and sell for $200. Thanks

Well guys Big Pharma is not interested in making a vaccine that will be a most likely one time inoculation . Patents like Viagra are a far better investment for them. From what I've read it was most likely traced back to bats and pangolins a scaly mammal that eats ants. Researchers said they found a 99 percent match between the genome sequences of viruses in pangolins and those in human patients after testing more than 1,000 samples and from wild animals. Not scientific evidence just yet, but many believe it crosses over into humans and it spreads. They are used in traditional Chinese medicine. Look em up, strange lookin creature. Remember that H1N1 which is "swine flu" and "bird flu" are viruses that crossed over. Ya know Armadillos are one of the few creatures that still carry Leprosy, don't eat one of those little suckers you can contract leprosy. Corona or Corvid-19 will run it's course, people will die others will survive. Virus and bacteria were here long before humans and will be here long after we are gone. No conspiracy, no plot, no Bill Gates , just mother nature kickin a little arse once again.

And turtles carry ecoli but you don’t hear of outbreaks from people eating turtles! you have got to be completely ignorant to think all those things are simply natural and that’s that. Biological warfare is not new it’s been around for a very long time and what better than to make the public think it’s a natural outbreak. To think elite nations would never use natural biology to control populations, elections or anything else that maintains status quo (too late) is plain foolish. Just take a look at our history. The evidence is all laid out there.

Not sure what researchers you read but There’s lots of research being done, not all of it is altruistic or even positively motivated for the greater good. Most is for profit in some way and there are some (many) who’s sole intent is to present data in biased ways or flat out lie even. So just because research was done doesn’t mean it’s something to jump behind as fact. In fact all researchers are only as good as the funding they get to do said research so it’s not such a fail safe. The researchers who examined gmo foods before its release in 1996 all unanimously found cancer high blood pressure diabetes etc and said it was toxic and bad and professionally recommended they stop research and plans to incorporate it into our food, yet the fda then fired the researchers swayed results using biased charts and diagrams to prove they were safe and now look at the gmo issue for exampleBut I suppose that’s conspiracy as well!
Truthfully there are way too many facets going on to pinpoint or focus on just one these topics as it would be out of context.
Anyways,
As far as affecting industry it’s bitter sweet. my wife makes natural medicines from plants we grow, harvest and gather all over our home state of Oregon And her business is going insane, she can’t keep up, even with our kids helping her pack orders and ship them out. I on the other hand build houses and I’m finding it tough to find masks For work which I find irritating. Panicked people making it harder on those trying to make a living and needing these things to perform our jobs safely not just hoarding masks. I also went to flush the cooling system in my Truck after the oil cooler blew On me and I couldn’t find distilled water anywhere and when I did find it I was told There was a 5gal limit. I moved closer to a city as there is far more work here but man I regret it everyday.

What patent? Trumps lead doctor said it could be a year or more before a vaccine is available and he’s been around the block once or twice. A doctor/researcher in Texas worked on the sars ,sp ? and said he couldn’t get funding. Evidently there is a connection with sars and corona. Hell I don’t know.
Its a form of SARS, or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Its full proper name is SARS-CoV-2, commonly named COVID-19 by the media.

Well, I think it's alot worse than they are saying. I can't ever remember any other virus or pandemic shutting China down. The way they are emptying stadiums in Europe, it's a little more than a election scheme.
I see thier point on not telling the public the truth, people can't handle crisis and are real stupid on average.
The outbreak itself is not worse than the media is saying, and in fact its not as bad as any flu outbreak. Nobody knows just where this came from although there are plenty of rumors from China that it was accidentally released from a laboratory in Wuhan. If true, immediate containment of the virus would be first priority, and shutting everything down is the end result of this. The flu has infected far more people in China and far more have died from the flu in China this year than the Corona virus, yet the corona virus is what has initiated a major panic world wide. Go figure.......

That right there!
But was is the timeframe for a prolonged situation?
10 days?
1 month?
6 months?
Don't think I care to be around if it really turns into a disaster type survival situation.

This ain't a movie and we ain't heroes...

I am seeing prices of $ 75 to $ 90 a cord for either Yellow Birch & Red Maple or Hard Rock Maple & Mountain Ash . White Pine & Cedar Slabs for $45-$50 a cord . Buyers Market apparently North of the Border apparently ! If this lockdown situation continues into the summer prices will escalate for certain !!
