How to Cut This Safely

I need to cut the trunk in 6-7’ sections for milling. As you can see this is in a very precarious position. What would be the best way of going about this safely? It is about 38” dis at the bottom.

Hard to tell what the other end is doing in the picture. Maybe hook a truck or tractor and pull it off the stump onto level ground. If your not comfortable lot cheaper to hire a pro then pay hospital bills.

Personally I like it better up off the ground stack some wood below it to support it chain it to a truck yes then take slack out of chain to where the log cant roll back on you and cut it.
 
You first cut will be to the left of the stump. Cut down about 1/2 way, hammer in a couple of wedges, this will prevent your bar getting pinched. Then finish your cut.

Why does it look like it went backwards?
