For the record, I am not complaining about the saw nor the builder.

Newly modded MS460
Port, Polish, Muff Mod, Timing Advanced.
205 PSI compression (tested)
When the motor is cold, choke all the way, compression release in, pull til it farts.
Couple times I thought I broke my wrist.

If I give another pull after it farts at full choke it seems to be flooded.
If I go to half-choke after first fart it seems to want a

After it farts, half-choke, compression release down, pull til it runs.
Couple times I thought I broke my wrist.

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to a good sequence to start it.

Suggestions?

Can someone make a short vid of you drop starting a cold modded saw with high compression please?

Another thing is to get the piston to top dead center than pull nice and hard. This allows the reciprocating assembly to build some momentum/energy to overcome compression with enough rpm to generate a nice strong spark.
Old Dirt bike rider were you?
