Hi there. Anyone know what type of HP I will need to run a Barnes 28GPM two stage pump? I was hoping I could use my existing 16hp Onan twin. Couldn't find much in the line of what Barnes recomends. any help appreciated.:greenchainsaw:

Thanks

I was thinking 14hp as well but I was unsure. Barnes say 8hp for 16gpm so my thinking was 16hp for 32gpm. Thanks again, I will let you know how I make out.

Thanks again

Good web site. Looks like the 16hp is plenty adequate. Should make a pretty slick splitter too ;).

Thanks again

Make sure you have a heavy I-beam Mine has a 28GPM With a 18HP honda and a 5" cylinder it twisted my I Beam which is 3/8" thick at a little above idle on the engine. I had to add a piece of 1/2" Flat bar to the top of the beam. Plenty of power maybe even too much. And forget about stalling the engine.
