Hey guys,

I have a husqvarna 562xp which stopped suddenly while in use.
The decompression lever won’t pop out when starting, and for a while the engine would only turn 1/2 - 3/4 rotation but no further. All it took was taking be he side cover off and giving it a bit of help, but now the engine does turn, but it won’t fire and the decompression button won’t pop back out.
Any thoughts on how to get this saw running again?

I don’t have a shrader valve on my compression tester.
it read 30-35.
wouls the valve make that much of a difference?

150 is typical number. Make sure your tester if using and adapter has schrader valve at end of adapter or hose. If not that added volume in adapter will give a low reading.

Pull the muffler and take a look. Show us a picture. Without a schrader value at end of adapter, length of hose, it is useless in giving a correct reading. 30-35 would think you have internal issues.

I snagged some pics, but not sure if they’re clear enough.
Any ideas from the pics attached?

I opened up the saw today, seems brand new to me...
Except for the clip that holdS the piston that came off.
How does that even happen?

New piston and cylinder kit needed. Those small piston pin clips can snag transfer ports sometimes. I have had a boat engine go on me before from that exact same issue.
Looks like it just failed. You want to try and find the rest of that clip before rebuilding, if you wash the crankcase out several times while rotating the crank it may help avoid another failure.
The cylinder looks very patchy, hard to see from the photo's but it looks to have dark patches all around the cylinder?
