I just ran into these on my daily walk. It got me thinking how does this happen in the winter? Why isn't the trunk destroyed if there is water flowing. We saw two trees like this.

Ok makes sense.....I'll have to do some reading on why the tree trunk doesn't do the splits :sweet:
