hey yall!

I'm trying something new in my shop. I decided to make a pair of dawgs for my 120si I'm building. I couldn't find dawgs for the 120si so I decided to make them. I'm in the prototype phase so they are rough. I wanted to try the big and outrageous westy dawgs let me know what you think. Again these are made by hand and a bit rough.

Thanks

Andy

My only critique is that the lower spikes which jut out a bit further than the other 3 are going to shorten the effective cutting length of the bar at little to no gain elsewhere.

Other than that they look quite mean.

Those things are huge. You must cut a lot of thick, heavy barked wood. Makes your saw look nasty mean!:crazy2:

They look good to me. I need a set a bit larger for the 120 i just got. Maybe not quite that large.
haa I can make a smaller set for ya. The long ones are 3” I could cut 1/2” off of them if you would like.

Haa thanks! It’s anything from hard woods to pine I cut. I just like the shark look more than anything.

Yeah I did notice that when I put my 20” bar in it for mock up but the plan was to use a 24-28” bar with this one.
Thanks guys!

Oh yeah I forgot to post the pictures of the finished design..

They look scary. Ban them now. Think of the children.

Actually, if you made a few more of those and clustered them at the end of a 20" handle you would have quite a nice mace.

Haa the mace idea is cool.. I haven’t made a mace but I do make knives as a hobby.

Just a question, not trying to start anything. Do those saws have enough torque to bear down that hard with those spikes?

The 120 si is pretty darn torquey. I actually am doing these more for fun than anything. I'll use them here in a bit after I get a choke valve for the carb. I'll let ya know

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure if I'm keeping the 120 or not yet. I can make them myself if I decide to. This is a set I made for a 133 that I used to have. 100_0041 (Custom).JPG

If it’s got a bulge in the top cover on the flywheel side it’s a 116/120si if I’m correct. The regular 120 don’t have a bulge in the top cover. I’ll see if I can find a pic of it..

Ok the first pic should be the 120si with othe bulge above the flywheel and the second is my 120 with out the bulge hope this helps.
