Hello,

Could anyone confirm if this is a black locust? If not, what kind of tree is it? I live in West Michigan. Thanks!

Looks exactly like my black locusts in southern indiana. The thorns are mostly at the top as it gets bigger around, not poisonous but sure hurts to rub up against. Wilted leaves can be dangerous to livestalk in quantity. Spring blossoms are white and beautiful. The wood is yellowish very hard heavy and dense, great for fence posts and outdoor use.
