This was a standing alive red oak that was hit by lightning probably 15 years ago. Had lots of carpenter ant damage and the top finally fell out of it so I cut it down and split all the wood. This was last fall. I do have oak wilt in the area and have had some trees die because of it.
I'm curious if the firewood could get oak wilt once split and stacked. It still has moisture in it of course and this was a piece on the top of the rack.
I was hoping to sell it but might just have to burn it to avoid moving it.
Thoughts?
