I had to hustle to clean a spot out for them lol. Headed out now to clean up the rest of the field.

Not the usual candidate for a "You Suck" Thread, but I think that qualifies ;):)

Road tolls? What's a road toll? A toll road? Completely confused in Washington state

Don't get over to the Western side of the state much do you Beetle?, unfortunately they DO have em:(, just the old HOV lanes now, you can pay a toll to use them, because they were total failures as HOV lanes.

Here in the Portland area, the Portland PIECE Of SHITT, er, Uhm, I mean Mayor,(Tax Em') Ted Wheeler wants to implement "Congestion Pricing" basically tolling the working class out of their cars during rush hour so the "Privileged" aren't inconvenienced by Traffic, typical Liberal Democrat thinking (Rather, LACK of Thinking)

Doug, I blew through Portland about 6-7 years ago on the way to Lincoln City. Rode our scooters to see Blue Oyster Cult at one of the casinos. A lot of the freeway system was being remodeled, or redone. Maybe updated is the proper term. The only toll road I've put a nickel in was in southern Florida.. I was kinda trying to get our friends goat on the east coast..I don't think we realize just how nice it really is on this side of the country. And I've driven to florida twice and rode it once.

Beetlejuice, there are NO TOLLBOOTHS on the Washington roads that are tolled, you can buy an EZ Pass, I think that it is called, and if you have it, it automatically detects it, and deducts it from your Pass balance, if you don't have the EZ Pass, the system takes a PICTURE of your LICENSE PLATE, and the state sends you a bill.

Portland is planning the same system for our "Congestion Pricing" plan, plus if they ever get the new "Columbia Crossing" bridge built, I have heard they plan on using that system there too.

That kind of stuff is new to me.. Haven't been on the other side of the state in ages. I don't think I would know how to drive with all the traffic.. Hope it doesn't come over here

We have lots of toll roads around here. There EZ tag only so unless you have a transponder your out of luck.
The first toll road was voted in by the voters in the understanding that after 20 years it would be paid for and then it would be free. "WRONG"
Not only is the toll still in effect, it's gone up from 0.25 per axle to 0.75 per axle. They said they needed the money to pay for other toll roads that are planed.
Excuse me! I paid for my toll road, why should I have to pay for other toll roads I will never use. Let the people that use that road pay for it.

I had an EZ tag but got rid of it because they kept sending me fines when my tag was tied to my credit card and the money was there but they failed to use it.
$9.00 in tolls that my EZ tag should have covered turned into $495.00. I refused to pay it and I never will. They sent me countless threatening letters saying I wouldn't be able to get my truck inspected or renew my license plates. That was a big fat lie.

Here's what happened. I had an EZ tag for years that was tied to my credit cart that had a 10,000 limit. Everything was fin for years. Then all of the sudden I get a letter saying I ran a toll. It had a pic of my truck so I know it was me. The letter said I would have to pay late fines if I didn't respond within 60 days. Well I didn't receive the letter till 30 days after the 60 limit.
So I call to find out what was the problem. They could not tell me why they didn't take the money out of my account like they had been doing for years.
I talk them into waving the late fees and I paid the toll over the phone with my credit card. The same card that was on the account.
Everything went smooth, she took the money out and even sent me a conformation receipt via email.
After I printed out the receipt they said we have 3 more violations, would you like to pay them now? I said no, send me a notice with a picture showing me it was me that ran the toll. They said no and then said if I didn't pay the other 3 tolls now, then they couldn't except the payments for the previous 3 that I just paid. I said I already paid that and I have the receipt that I just printed out.
They actually went in and returned the money back into my account. :surprised3:
Then they started coming after me for all 6 tolls, the 3 that I just paid and the 3 that I had not. The last letter they sent they wanted $490 something for the tolls and fines.
Thats the day I removed my EZ tag and I have never used the toll again. They can kiss my ass.

Doug.. I live downtown Spokane, almost.. The north/south freeway is moving along at the speed of gear reduction MALL. But more happening with Trump in power. Don't know if good or bad. No opinion really.. We enjoy doing the white elephant, and general store. My buddy owns general store so nice to get friends and family discount tho we don't use it very often. At the "Y" is where the chainsaw boneyard is.. Can find most anything if ya don't mind getting dirty. Nice owner. I can't ***** too much.. We like it here. Same house 35 yrs.. And Spokane is about 5 yrs behind everyone else. And no easy pass.. Florida toll road was stop and toss quarter in the basket. Old school

Beetlejuice, I really like the Spokane area, the only downside is the LOOOONG drive to the Coast for Fishing and Crabbing;)

I hadn't yet been afflicted with CAD/CSMAD yet when I was going to Spokane, so I wasn't aware of the chainsaw boneyard, might have to check it out if I ever get back to Spokane, but that will likely be on personal time, not for business, our plant doesn't even produce most of the product that I was delivering to Spokane, any more :(

I will drop you a line if I do get back to Spokane, maybe we could do lunch or something

Doug

Maybe you'll develop the addiction by then.. It just takes 1 saw that needs a little TLC and you're off and running. AND, we live in collectable chainsaw heaven. MAC in the day was based in LA. and PNW was logging Nirvana. Hense, a treasure trove sitting in garages and barns from central Montana to Puget Sound, and North/south as far as the eye can see..sep some of Arizona. Kidding Arizonites
