Really hate doing this but I bought a 7900 and can’t justify having 2 70cc saws.

I am the second owner of this saw . I purchased from a local guy, who bought it new to fall a few trees around his house. I’d guess this saw has about a total 8-10 tanks of fuel thru it.

I ground out the transfer plate veins and polished them up, defeated limiters, muffler mod, and retuned it. Added the larger dawgs

The saw has been super reliable for me. Has never failed to fire for me. I just use for occasional firewood and cleanup around the farm.

To my knowledge there is not a thing wrong with this saw.

Not sure what she is worth.

I have some milling I need to do...with the porting, will it handle up to 22" reliably? I'm not going to be milling daily, I have about a half dozen shagbark hickory I need to mill and just long neglected cleanup on 20 acres of mature Midwestern forest. I have a smaller saw and need to move up to the bigger guns. This seems like a good deal, either this or a 394 fully ported for $750, but I like the price of this more! Thanks!

So I have no experience milling lumber and I hoping others can chime in to help you on that part.

Just to clarify this saw has not been ported. It has had the mods to make it a 372 Husqvarna equivalent. I ran a 24" Tsumura and it pulls it well. I used this saw for around the farm and firewood. I am the second owner, original owner bought it to drop some bigger oaks around his home vs paying a tree crew to do it. I purchased it from him done the mods myself . It is a low hour saw...

In comparison to the 394 that's a whole class of saw. I personally had thought of getting a big saw 390, 661 etc. But for me a good 70cc works great for balance of power and weight for what I do.

Milling kills xTorqs. Long pistons. A little is fine, but hickory at 22" is not advised.

This is more of a hotrod felling and bucking saw. They're really fun with a 20" bar.

This was a good deal before the price drop. Somebody should snatch it up!

GLWS.

Thanks for the suggestions I picked up a Mike Lee ported 394xp. Decided against the hickory and going to do white oak. I was on the fence with this saw and I do wish the op glws! Seems like a great ride for someone at a great price

First post, first pic,the decal says CS 2166,so basically same saw.I know that grind the covers and you have a 2172 but who cares. You said 24" bar and chain worth ~75$,i don't see the OP to mention anything about a bar and chain so even more price difference.Anyway, am not here to judge the seller or the saw,i just say that he is not gonna sell the saw when NIB saws are out there for cheaper.

I understand exactly what you're saying. Not everyone that needs a big saw can do the work converting. Or modding a muffler. I can't cut a base and band on a cylinder, it's easy for some.
