Jonsered 2260 clutch spring

I had one of the 3 clutch springs break last week.

What’s the secret to getting the new spring installed. Every tool I have to stretch the spring wide enough to get in the slot, the part of the tool is in the way.

I did a search on here and online in general and did not find any help.

Put up a pic of what you have, I doubt that you would use a tool.

For the time being I was able to switch out the clutch with one off my old 357; I didn’t realize they were the same.

Will try to fix the spring this weekend

I find a hook end tool the easiest to install springs

The manual is pretty much what I did; just couldn’t get it. Eventually I stretched the spring too far and it didn’t compress anymore.
