Eighteen YO grandson, started his own landscape business as full time summer job, part time other than summer as still going to college. He has dropped a few trees for firewood and topped a few since 16 YO but just with handsaw and < 4" dia, 50ft up. Has recreationally climbed 200 ft DF.

He has been asked about removing some firs and alder near houses. Told him first he needs to get insurance, etc.....and - what other prerequisite suggestions? He is trim and fit, can do dozens of pull ups, etc.

Are there any good guides or books on learning to climb/top/limb with CS?
Recommendations?

Removals are a good place to start, don't have to make clean cuts, or diagnose issues. Spikes =]
