Log splitter not starting after running out of gas while splitting

In the old days they used to build fires under the engine blocks to get them warm enough to start. That could turn into a catch 22 if the splitter is the piece of equipment you need to start.
we used to use the metal garbage can lid and charcoal set it up with a pile of charcoal and put the lighter on it about 6 feet in front of the car when the coals were good knock them down with your shovel and push the lid under the oil pan,

while you were getting that ready you pulled the battery and took it inside , if you hadn't brought it in side the night before , and put it on the charger . then after the oil pan was warmed up take the battery outside install and start the car.

it was a common thing for college students with cars in days past to bring the battery for their car in to their dorm room not start the car all week then on Friday when classes were over go install the battery and the car would start they could drive home for the weekend , not really something your likely to see on college campuses any more.
 
Cycle the valve both ways to relieve pressure, give it a 1 second shot of starter fluid into the air intake and give it a pull.
