Please see the pic of tha tree tump that has been cut as it looks it has been infected with carpenter ant. Lots of sawdust at the bottom of the tree and in the stump. Need some expert advise to save another tree in vicinity

The ants are not the cause of your trees demise they are simply entering a good host due to its decline and decaying wood. The tree pictured does not look good. I'd recommend immediate removal. If you wanna kill the ants go to town on the pictured tree with any spray...

Is the pictured tree even still alive?

No need to kill any carpenter ants in the tree. Once you remove the rotted wood of that trunk, they'll leave and go do what they do somewhere else.
We actually need the ants to help break down fallen and decaying wood so it's better not to F with mother nature.
Carpenter ants only find soft dying wood to make a nest in, they don't eat into healthy living trees.

It's not necessary to kill the ants but we get a few people every year that MUST have the ants killed, no problem I'll gladly accept your money.
