Greetings,
We are trying to put the oil.pump upgrade kit onto this saw. The plastic pinion threads that interface are strpped out and have a concave shape.
Saw is not oiling because of this.
We have the tec bulliten and service change from 3-8-95.

We do not know what the technique is ro remove the old metal gear as it is a press fit. I read somewhere about using a 3/4 pipe nipple and putting a nut on emd of crank with sharp blow like removing a tapered crank pressed on flywheel e.g. Husky.
Also dealer has dedicated tool, no dealer support near here.
If we use heat, how much, what kind?
Don't want to make it worse.
The upgraded pinion requires the new wider thread oiler gear.
Thanks for any and all help on removal, and what is install?
How do we get it to correct location on the shaft so pump pinion aligns.
Would a smaller gear puller remove gear?
Thanks as we are stuck.
Dave
