Just bought a used EA6100P saw in a nice shape. I wanted to change few parts like rim sprocket which was little worn, drum, needle bearing, bar and chain.
Question I have is : why the rim sprocket is so darn loose on a drum, I thought the old one was worn out but after getting a new oregon 3/8 - 7 just as original was, it's not any better, still very loose. I'm awaiting a new drum, hope that helps but for now ...

its a “floating rim”. its not meant to be super tight. but if the previous sprocket was run past its expiration then its possible the drum is damaged. i bet its fine but post a pic if you want
