My parents have a row of Silver Poplar between their house and my grandparents house and a few more along the property line. I just had to remove a few big limbs due to canker. The other trees show slight signs of it as well, although not as severe as the one I had to work on. Aside from thinning and deadwooding are there any non chemical approaches to manage it?

Attached images of the infected limbs I removed.

Possible cytospora canker, tend to doubt it's phytophthora. Option A, remove diseased trees. Option B, prune out diseased parts until trees have been slowly removed. Option C, once trees have succumbed to disease remove dead trees.
