Here's one we don't get the chance to do high performance modifications to very often. The Super is getting pretty tough to find these days.

This is the saw as it was delivered. Way too fat.

I cut the squish band and shaved .045 from the base of the cylinder. Then it was just a basic woods port.....

Looks odd to see both the intake and exhaust on the same side huh?

Found a stripped bolt hole on the exhaust......just oversized it and kept truckin.

All done....

Randy you been holding out on me ,you didnt tell me you could do that to a super when you had Mine there !!!

I may be able to gather enough parts to

Did you have to do any igntion timing adjustments since you dropped the cyl ?

that looks a lot like my 510 chop saw i cut cars up with ,wonder if the parts are the same like cylinders etc

Nice! What do you used to get down inside the transfers like that. Raising and widening them is not an issue for me, but getting inside to do some smoothing has me puzzled.

I left the ignition as is.

That's a sizable chunk off the base. What's compression at?

I haven't checked it Steve. It should be about 180psi or so. I'll put a tank or so thru it then check it.

I use a CC Specialty RT angle handpiece for the uppers. They're only 300.00....I should have bought two of em. :cool2:

Wow Randy! Without using a stopwatch, it's like 5 seconds faster!

Totally makes that old saw worth taking out and using!

I got cut a little on the inside of my leg not long after I made those videos. I cut that block into a 10" cant then did some timed cuts with my Partner and a 9 pin. It threw the chain on the second cut and the chain slapped my leg. Dinked up my chain pretty bad too. :(

I reckon I need some chaps.......

Very impressive! It looks like you widened the lower transfers along with the uppers. I have always wondered why its never done.

No it just looks that way in the pics. The ultrasonic cleaner just got the plating in that area nice and shiny I guess. I didn't do anything to the lowers at all.
