I picked up this Mcculloch Electramac 14 em14e to use when I'm cutting near the house because its easier to use then the gas chainsaw but I noticed it has a hard nose bar on it. After looking online at other photos of this model it seems that it came with a hard nose from the factory. Why would they use a hard nose bar on this electric chainsaw and should I get a bar for it with a sprocket?

Back when that was made, hard nose bars were cheaper, as they did not use stellite on tip, all they did was not put in sprocket nose as they figured it would only be used for 1-2 hours a year. A sprocket nose bar would be better, but then the bar will probably outlast that saw??
