Here in Santa Cruz I live in a very nice older neighborhood on a one block street with several house well over a million dollars. Just around the corner a house just sold for over two million. My house is the worst on the street and really needs a 90% remodel but still it is worth well over 800 thousand dollars. If you lived here you too could bask under sunny skies (last weekend was t-shirt-mow the lawn weather), hardly any water, serious crime rates, transients everywhere, and a police chief who denies crime is happening. My next door neighbors house was broken into last week, cars are broken into every night. A bicycle or kids toys left unlocked is gone the next morning. And still the housing prices start in the mid 800s.

I forgot, we also have our own refugee camp right along the river. I'll try to get a pic and post it here. Our fish wrapper is the Santa Cruz Sentinel if you are interested.

Come over to the dark side, of the mountain. Out in Uvas Canyon where I live there's very little crime and I haven't seen a homeless person in the area yet.

Looks like a couple of sheds and a larger warehouse. Lately it's been used to farm alfalfa. Decades ago it was likely prunes, walnuts, or apricots.

Not seeing much flat ground, nice homes in the area though.

That lot is really flat, and is in an area just south of San Jose called Coyote Valley. It's got the backside of the Santa Cruz Mtns on one side, and the Diablo Range on the other.
