MS441 trade for MS462?

I'm currently running a 441 for a mid size saw. It's a non mtronic and to me lacks torque and is temperamental in warm weather. Looking for opinions wether the 462 is a worthwhile upgrade.

If you have the money sure, the power difference won't be ground breaking though. I'm guessing a good tuning of the 441's carb and maybe a fuel system rebuild would go a long way.

If you want more torque than the 441, I'd look for a 461.

Usually I run a 20 inch bar on my 441, for anything bigger I prefer my 661. The 441 seems to grab and stall if the rakers aren't exact otherwise it runs good. It can be a pain to start and get going when hot. The weight of the 462 has my interest.

Again if you want a new saw by all means. But it sounds like the 441 needs a proper tuning, that will go a long way getting the saw to meet your expectations.

Granted I don't know your usage, but if you can tune the 441 up and save away some cash to buy the fuelie 500i...... that could be Sierra Hotel
