Who makes the 462 cylinder ??? I hope it's not Meteor. Some say it's a Kolbenschmidt. It looks nice, thin fins, nice machining but the colour is odd...take a look for yourself

Meteor doesn't do OEM. But, what's wrong with them?

Mahle or Kolben, not even Gilardoni. They are inferior, just my opinion. Meteor makes 181 oem cylinders.

I've always used OEM, except for a Hyway I have on a 2152 I've been avoiding finishing. I use the chit out of their pistons though.

Super thin, light weight, wonder how they will hold up to heat cycles? :buttkick:NWP makes a lot of dark colors castings.

I think Stihl makes their own cylinders now.

Probably made by Stihl, but they look like Mahle jugs.

I’ve been into a few 261, basically smaller version of the 362/462 and the cylinders look and feel like Mahle, even though they don’t say if.

Köelbenschmidt and Gillardoni jugs are generally shiny in color and the KS don’t stain and are a heavier harder alloy.

There are a ton of variations in cylinder that we still don’t know. A recent one for me was that Mahle cylinder made for Stihl and Husky models have different Nikasil plating. Yes, that’s right. The nikasil in the Husky Mahle cylinders is a harder substance than the Nikasil in a Stihl Mahle Cylinder. A chrome ring will be fine in a Husky Mahle but will chew up a Stihl Mahle Cylinder in one tank.
