Tried this in business with no response so trying here. I am often in the position of needing multiple line drops often to three separate houses for one job. I'm curious what best practices are for informing neighbors or asking permission when power needs to be dropped for a client who's home is not involved in the job. Many times neighbors don't have a relationship. Thanks

Are you needing 3 lines dropped so you can drop the tree in one cut?

It's three line drops because houses are close in the city and very often there is a split of the lines where two or three different lines will run through one tree. I always ask the homeowner to speak to the neighbor but sometimes they don't know them, are uncomfortable asking, or just have differing schedules and never see one another. I'm just curious what most companies do in this scenario as I'm certain it will occur more than once in the future.

If there is even one power line running through the tree I hope you are not rigging or dropping anything. In this case there are in fact three power lines running through the tree all going to separate houses. I need them all taken out so that I may safely enter the tree and prune the tree while adhering to basic safety standards.

We put it all to the homeowner our proposal provides a spot for each effected party to sign and provide a phone number acknowledging the disconnect. Same concept goes for equipment or pedestrian access on a property... if you are, as the homeowner, unwilling get to go meet ur neighbors to have work done on your property that's not my problem. Now we generally don't drop service lines to trim we normally try to work around them for removals too but when we do need a service dropped it never seems to be much of an issue. Worst case if we dont get "permission" the utility will drop it and say due to maintenance. They mail notifications out to all effected parties. For a primary deenergize the utility handles everything.
