Well, I had an interesting 24 hours. I went out last evening after work, and dug 7 stumps and a bunch of boulders for an old fellow (85 years, three days ago).

I had Bell Telephone come in and locate the area the day before, and I had to leave several stumps with cables under them. Under one stump, his unmarked phone line was missed ... and I got it. I didn't have repair tools with me, so I asked him for a hot melt glue gun and a roll of tape. Twenty minutes later, good as new. Learn something every day.

This morning - I put a floating dock in for one of my snowplowing customers. I don't usually do that, but I guess I've become his boy "Friday" since last year when I cut him out of a mess of blowdown in a December heavy-wet snow and wind storm (about 40 trees on his 600 foot driveway).

Next, I whacked a white birch with the spurs in my neighbourhood. My wrists aren't as strong as they need to be, after a winter of pushing a pencil and snowplow controls. My 064 gave me trouble related to coming out of storage, but all was soon done once I got it fired up.

Then, onto another stump dig - 3 24" poplar up against a fence. Tough digging with the backhoe. He wanted the stumps buried in the yard, rather than pay the price to get them hauled, so I obliged him. He saved $90 on hauling and tipping fees, but the lawn is pretty much starting from scratch.

Then came the brewski's. :D I don't work like this every weekend, but it was nice to get out and go from the lake bottom to the tree 'tops'.

How was your weekend, or week for that matter?

It was a good week business wise for me, but I am totally wiped out. Both office people went to Egypt for 10 days and I got all the paper work, phone calls, and a bunch of leads to bid. That's why I havent been on the boards much. Thanks guys for covering me on the boards today was my 7th consecutive day of 14 hours of work. I have seven crews of guys to worry about too!! I am taking my wifes mom, my wife and her dad to the Rockies game tomarrow for mothers Day. Finally a break. When you are busy I guess the good thing is your bills will be paid, Huh.
Have a good weekend y'all.
Darin
