So last year in late October we had a tree guy prune this tree.
We bought the house 6 years ago and never pruned it before.
Last week, we saw white slime in multiple parts of the tree and someone told us it could be bacterial infection.

We called the tree guy back and he said that there are upward facing cavities that are letting water into the tree.
He suggested that I take spray foam insulation and spray into the cavities.
However, right before we did it, I looked in this forum and it seems that may cause more rot and insect issues.

Please help !!!

We love this tree and will do everything to get it back to normal.

THanks in advance!
