I heat my 1000 sq foot living area,(inside a shop) with a gibralter stove. The problems I have: 1, It's too big, I have to have a small fire in a big stove 2, I have a 6" chimny and the door is way to big, it's hard to fire up without smoke rolling out.
I cut most of my wood 20-24" lenghts for my large shop stove. I was thinking a smaller end loading stove would give me enough length and the smaller end door for my smoke problem. I am also after a stove that has good draft control for overnight and when it gets too warm.
The Jotul 118 caught my attention but I know nothing of other comparable brands. Please tell me what works for you. One other thing; I'm hoping to find a used one. Thanks
