I know I had read it somewhere on one of their sites, but I wasnt sure which saw it was, I was thinking it was the 510. I basically learners 5100 and 5105 were the ones to get in the 50cc class.

PS 460/500 are farm versions of professional PS 4600/5000.
PS 510/5100 is just US version of 500/5000.
PS 4605/5105 are newer versions of 4600/5000.
PS 550 (EA5600F) is relatively new farm saw with - afaik - no corresponding professional model.

Thanks.
With what I see there nothing has changed the ones I'd consider buying are still the 5100 and the 5105, if the pro saws seem fat to me then the farm ranch saw would only be worse, and the only reason I'd buy them is to resell them. The primary market for a dolmar/makita is right here on the forum, not a lot of local guys looking for them, I know this based on how long they sit on our local sites for sale, and the nonpro models would sit even longer and thats with what would be a great price. Although they are a better quality than many of the other brands farm ranch saws they just don't sell, but if I was desperate and I didnt plan on selling I'd buy one if it was cheap, but thats just not the case.

View attachment 753211 Bought the Husky 550 version 2 and this thing runs like a raped ape, so happy with it! Balance is perfect and it feels good in the hands.
Good to hear, and it runs well right here in West Michigan :).
Congrats on the new saw.
I ran a ported 346 for a chain test today, every time I cut softwood it amazes me lol.

only one of mine is up and running at the moment, but with a sharp chain they both amaze me even in hardwood.

What are they out of the game now??

Edit

Nm, seems they don’t have anything I want to offer, auto tune only if you can find them. Seem to be the exact same saw I’m sick and tired of haha

I’m not going to lie the version 2 is interesting me... I love husky but they really disappointed me with the 550 I bought last year....

I’ve been watching videos on the dolmar 5105 and it really looks superior is every way to me. Throttle response is excellent even without the muffler mod, weight is good, magnesium crankcase and a non strato design thus the cat in the muffler. Standard fin and cylinder orientation as well. To me this means heat is down and longevity of the saw is up.
Price is a few hundred less as well, and it comes in 3/8.

As much as I want to keep all huskies in my collection, they ****ed up with a pro firewood 50cc saw.
Bring in the arguments if you wish, I’m ready to throw down!!

Air filtration isn't as good as the Husqvarna system. The 5105 is a bit chunky and I don't really care for the easy start, but mine sure runs great and is really smooth. I got the H model so it has heated grips and that is nice. A lot less $ than a equivalent Husqvarna.

This one will be going up for sale, just another ole beat up stock 346xp ne.

It was less than the 550 especially if you consider the 550 w/heat.
I like my 555 a lot. Got a 20 in. bar/chain, muffler mod and it runs great. She's my do all. It will block firewood, fell trees and trim and limb...

I like them, they are the reason I sold my 254's, they can do everything they could and do it better and they get great fuel economy and they have flippy caps.. I like the orange clutch cover too :).
I have a Windsor 17 I liked to run on mine, I should put that on a ported 346, its been sitting a while.
How loud is that mod?

What were the 50 cc models of old husky saws before 2012? 346 and the 355 or something? I really have zero knowledge on those ones, are they hard to come by?

Its actually not that loud. I generally wear hearing protection but you can easily put up with the noise if without.
