We said goodbye to our old Earth Stove insert and hello to our new Lopi Revere insert today.
It only took 4 hours to remove the old stove and put in the new one. They had a lot of demo work to do before they could actually set the new stove in place. We will be waiting until later this fall to break it in.

We love our Lopi freedom.
It requires that the wood be dry in order to operate correctly.

Allow some ash to build up in the bottom of your new unit and you will get longer burn times.
Also, Light the "First" fire in your new unit someday when it is not to cold.
That way you can open all of the windows and doors and vent the stink that will be given off of the new unit.

We plan on waiting until the temps are down in the 40's or so before we fire it for the first time. I was told to do a number of firings with each one being a bit hotter than the one before and letting it cool between firings. I have lots of dry wood. Being on the 3 year plan helps.
