I know bro, the shipping cost is half of the saws price
unless if you can make the shipment somehow teleport to your door step
then it would be a different story
i wish if i could do better though

I sent a 550xp to AUS for $120. The 353 was a little over $400 when they sold here.

We dont get that kind of prices for shipping in our country
thats a very reasonable price for shipping
I received a shipment from USA yesterday weighing less than 8lbs
UPS charged sender a tad lower than USD 70

II'll guess that they sold for alot closer to 1000au here, with a more even dollar.
Also that's just the price of stuff outside the states

Just got informed by my dealer, they are discontinuing 288xp
my dealer has 1 last unit with him ATM
according to him, distributors will land another last batch of shipment in a month or so
not sure of the quantity though
and it will be officially NLA after all of those units sold

maybe manufacturer got their own plan i guess
