My 5200 saw was running a bow at one time before I got it, case and cover had been notched out. Guy didn't have the bow that I got it from. He deals with scrap metal and I told him if he runs across any old Poulans to drop the off at my brother's.

I was digging through some of my parts yesterday which I have not done for years now. I found a set of NOS rings for a 5200. Then I remembered I was going to rebuild one that I have here. I also found some NOS rings for Poulan 505 and 475. I had forgotten I had these. I going to have to do a inventory more often or write them down on a sheet of paper.
Yes I am afraid so.

Well Roger, I discovered a work around for those hard to find thin 5200/5400 rings #530023645.

Used a pair of the Homie Super XL 925 rings #69452. Easy to find, same exact bore & 0.024” thickness, and the ends gaps were fine over the keeper pin.

All, here's the 4000 I picked up last year paired with the bow I picked up this week. I've also included the herd of 4000's I've accumulated over the years. I absolutely love a 4000, but need to start branching out into 5200's 5400's and more. I need more cc's and am sure you can relate. All these bow saws are giving me the itch, and you know what I mean. Best, Max.20200530_153111.jpg20200530_153047.jpg20200530_152817.jpg20200530_152754.jpg

Agreed, nice group of bow saws Gary. What a fine collection! How long did it take to assemble? Which is your favorite, which one runs the best? Max.
Thanks Max
My favorite saw is the 4000 on the far left I love to run the 4000’s. Hard to say which one runs the best . The 5200 on the far right probably cuts faster than the rest but it needs antivibe isolators . I started looking for a bow saw almost 2 years ago for firewood and asked a friend where to find one . He said a Poulan would be a good one if you could find one, they are rare he said . They are not as rare as he thought I guess ! I’ve sold off about 5 bow saws since I’ve narrowed down which ones I like . I think I’m addicted .

Excellent Randy. That is the kind of information we to save somewhere.
