I know, you've all seen 1,000,000 346XP vids. Sorry, but I LOVE a 346! This one's no different. The topend on this saw is headed to France, along with the 357XP carb and intake. It's tuned to about 15K and holding +- 13K in the cut.
l got to many saws don't do this stuff to us......now how much does the 357 carb/intake help things along? Seems to be a popular mod. AS much as l think AT/Mtronics are a benefit to ope, l must say l kinda like being able to use all my little screwdrivers l have obtained the years. Especially when l don't have a diagnostic program on my puter to plug up to my saw.
Say what? You're going to make a 350 perform like this? That I'd like to see? It would take an exceptional 5100 to get to this level as well. What it should have been? Seriously? PUI?Again, one of the most over rated saws. Give me three hours with a Husky 350 and it will walk circles around a 346, give me 3 hours with a Dolmar 5100 and you can run a 20" 3/8" all day and not have to run your big saw.
Sorry, why spend the time and effort to make it what it should have been, when you can get what it could have been much easier?
You NEED a 346 I've built them both ways for the same customer. He's a full time professional. The way he puts it, the 357 intake tract and carb adds torque. It's certainly not a requirement to build a fantastic running 346. It's just icing on the cake.l got to many saws don't do this stuff to us......now how much does the 357 carb/intake help things along? Seems to be a popular mod. I was waiting on a comment like that, lol. I almost posted a disclaimer, although that would have just been inviting the flack That tiny piece of wood is the very last piece I have on the property right now. You'll just have to take my word for it, that it will perform equally well in bigger woodDoes it cut anything bigger then that little limb? Hell I thinkI could keep about 13,000 rpms with a handsaw in that piece of wood
You're wrong...Again, one of the most over rated saws. Give me three hours with a Husky 350 and it will walk circles around a 346, give me 3 hours with a Dolmar 5100 and you can run a 20" 3/8" all day and not have to run your big saw.

Just don't run the chain so tight...Just MEAN for no reason. That is a 50cc cylinder? I just picked up a 45cc that has a 20" 3/8 setup, I noticed that it periodically has a small whining noise when I installed the chain back on. I'm not sure if it is a bearing that needs attention or I installed the chain too tight. I know the chain was a little tighter that I liked when I reinstalled the bar.
The 357 carb/intake is a weird thing. Actually I own 2 different 346 builded by 2 different guys. One gain nothing with the bigger carb and has already a lot of torque. The other one really need this carb to run close to the 1st one.
I trust Brad, if he say this saw will like the 357 carb it's probably true!
I bet your neighbors love you , Brad!
I port them no differently. As I understand it, the larger carb helps more if the porting is "tailored" for it, than if not.
The 346xp actually has a larger carb than most other 50cc saws to begin with.
I port them no differently.
Well known doesn't necessarily mean muchI didn't say you do - but somene that is well known on here does....
