    Starbucks sippy cups. 'Nuff said.

Edit to add: Kudos to Starbucks for getting rid of the straws. Now, straws for cold coffee products in the first place? 'Nuff said.

It is one small step forward to helping solve the runaway plastic polution problem in the world's oceans. I give them kudoes for it. Seattle, wa has banned them from all fast food and mainline restarants.

What about all the plastic grocery store bags? I can't recall the last time I saw a paper one. If we do happen to get a paper bag, we keep them and use them for other purposes.

We keep the plastic bags as well. We use them when we have our garage sales. Makes things a lot easier when someone buys an arm load of stuff.

What about plastic utensils like forks, knives and spoons in fast food joints? At that point do we do away with them and start to use our fingers?

Maybe it's just me. Kind of like worrying about an ingrown toe nail, when someone is suffering from a large open sucking chest wound.

I better hurry out and stock up some straws to store my round saw chain files in, I’m afraid this will gain traction and straws will be out lawed. . .

Yep, it's just you. It is more like a shard of rib that compromises the integrity of the occlusive dressing.

    I recycle the plastic bags.

As for the rest, you seem to think that if one can't solve the whole problem, no need to do anything.

Just price basic incandescent bulbs now. I loaded up at 75% off at Sears Hardware going out of business. Can't get toilets with big flush anymore.

My point was, and still is, we have so many more important issues to focus on at the present time.

I can't recall the last time I was driving down the road, thinking aloud......Man, we simply have to do something about all these damn plastic straws f'ing up the environment.

What to do........what to do? :nofunny:

This was a Starbucks answer to a real problem that they have control over. You want to give them the world overpopulation problem to see how they handle that?

Just a bunch of snowflakes acting as if they're going to do something about nothing. It's a feel good act.

I bet their customers would rather see lower prices than no straws.
