Our 30' Norfolk pine is oozing a white wax at bottom of trunk and needles are turning brown and dropping. This has been ongoing for a couple years, be never as bad as right now. Anyone with any suggestions as to what needs to be done. Local arborists want a arm and leg just to come look at the tree.01.JPG01.JPG02.JPG

curious as to whats going on here, the white wax is sap generally from wounds & the tree trunk looks poor in condition akin to some form of impact damage.

As well seen along beside is that pre existing drain depression along the grass or some newer excavation?

a local tree expert, looked at the tree, and determined it was insect damage. We did a tree injection, insect spray and root drench. Now I'll just wait and see it the trees improve. Seems like trees throughout the area here in So.California, have been having this problem.
