Tonnage is really not the best way to evaluate log splitters. Cycle time and tonnage is. Cycle time is critical.
Vacuum cleaners have an efficiency number on them. It's a number that basicly says how much suction per kilowatt you are getting.
It's about as useful as mpg on a bulldozer.
Or, "20" bar". I don't care how long the bar is on a chainsaw. You can put a 60" bar on a 25cc saw. Of course if the chain moves, it's not going very fast.
It's nearly useless information, for the purpose of disinfranchising the customer, from the actual information he could really use, to make a practical and informed decision, about a given product.
