Hi all,
Does anyone have evidence on the effects of planting a tree that has been grown in warmer zone/climate than the zone it is being planted in? I am interested to know if planting a tree grown in a warmer climate would open it up to more stress, disease, etc. If you have any articles, journal reviews, or anything of the sort, please let me know!

We have been planting trees in zone 3b that were grown in zone 6. I can guarantee you that seed source matters when it comes to survival, especially if you experience extreme colds. In the other direction you have to think about desiccation and extreme heat.

Here is information for industrial forests using seeds https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-tree-seed-transfer-policy
