Plantong trees

I'm looking to grow some trees from seedlings on our property. I'm wondering when the best time is to get seeds, when to plant them, and how to plant them. I'm looking to plant gather some European elm seeds, and pin oak seeds. And I'd also be curious as to what to expect the growth rates to be. Thanks.
