Nice i have 2 of them . thinking of selling one or swapping it.they are in good shape one still has the decals on the cutting bar.the chain was only filed 1 time.paint is chipped offrom being kicked or moved around alot.other than that they are in good to.excellent shape.

Other than the muffler, the old 270 is back together and ready for mayhem. I tried to leave as much untouched as possible, like the area under the clutch cover. I found someone in Canada who is going to sell me a NIB muffler as soon as he can get to his long term storage, which may be a few months but I'm patient. The clutch cover looks different because many years ago my grandfather cut a section out of the back as an outlet for sawdust, because it cut so aggressively (cutting with the grain?) it would clog up.

Nice.ihave a 175 and 270 .need.a muffler and.carb kit for my 270.not bad saws other than that. bit heavy but has.a bit of power.use to be alot of them around here yrs. ago.the pulp cutters its all the used.although a bit heavyier then the old pioneers 600 -650 they found they seemed to have better torque.some of them found them (pioneers) little under powered.

All the parts are much the same except it has a smaller piston than the 270.and muffler is different it bigger.and carb has a slightly different#.even though the 270 little bigger in cc's it seemed more powerful.i rebuilt alot of those old cdn'syrs ago.a few 177,188.and few skil saws.when cdn company was bought out by skil in the usa .they just took the equipment .the saw parts was left behind and buiried up in 2 large holes the size of a football statium .dont.think the did not honoured any of the warrenties.what a wast.was told that by the guy in quebec.he has the chainsaw museum.i think he has all of the canadiens built.

PM 19A Pacemaker, crankcase is back together, new bearings, seals, gaskets fuel and oil lines. Still looking for a clutch that fits on the keyed shaft. Painted the top cover tank, it was pretty rough so I gave it a coat of primer and paint then sanded it a bit to scuff it up. I wanted to keep the other parts as they were. The last photo is from Acres site.IMG_2344.JPGIMG_1946.JPGIMG_1120.PNG

ugh... that makes me sad that they BURIED the parts and equipment.

I'd love to run my 270 against a 175 someday...

Yeah i think this was discusting to do.these saws ma of been a bit heavy but they was an excellent saw.my neigh our used a couple of them for years building fishing boats.he wore them out.last going he had to prime them to get them to run.compression was so low.used them for ripping and sawing.timbers and knees.the man knew his stuff.

I have a PM Redhead that needs parts and I have a Super Pioneer 51 needing some parts.
I would like to trade one for a parts saw for the other.
Not selling only trade for one or the other. They are both a little scarce, let me know if your looking for a trade.
