Need piston. rings for 175 and 270.
I saw that video too, NO idea where he found a piston and rings but I'm sure it was NOS stock that he found somewhere...Hi Guys,
Just want to confirm something that I am sure I know the answer too. A piston and a sets of rings for a Canadian 270 are no longer available ? I did see someone on U Tube who was rebuilding a 270 that he bored the cylinder and put an oversize piston in it ?
Cheers

Yes, that is correct, the only way you'll find a piston for a Canadien 270 is NOS. Rings you may be able to source from other places (the greek on ebay or hastings)Hi Guys,

I think a Skil 1670 is basically the same saw? You could search under that model as well.Yes, that is correct, the only way you'll find a piston for a Canadien 270 is NOS. Rings you may be able to source from other places (the greek on ebay or hastings)
No idea where that guy got the oversize piston. I mean, if money was no object, i'm sure you could find someone like wiseco to make you a piston.... but it'd be very very expensive.
You may also be able to find a piston out of something else that could be modified to work. I have no idea where to start on that idea though.

Since pistons aren't radically different from one application to another, I often wonder if you could find something close in bore, wrist pin, etc that could interchange. AND these Canadiens have a cast iron cylinder liner, which could probably be overbored somewhat.

Im back to looking for a muffler for my 270, I thought I had one tracked down but I haven't heard back from the guy. I will have to use my homemade muffler until I find one...
I believe Pioneer 700, 750, 1750 and 1850 use the same piston. They were made by a Vancouver company and used by Pioneer, PM and in the Skil sawsHi Guys,

Good luck with that, there aren't many parts for the PM saws around. I'd suggest that buying a parts saw may be your best bet.Hi Guys,
I just bought my 2nd Canadien 270 in the last 10 days but this one needs a new/used cylinder.
Would anyone have a used cylinder from a parts 270 that they would like to sell ?

Looks like maybe the 175 according to Mike Acres siteDoes anyone know what model Canadien this piston would fit??:
Im kinda blown away they list this....

It would be interesting to know if they still had the tooling for other models...Looks like maybe the 175 according to Mike Acres site
Yes it's a ventHi Guys,
Just wanted some information please. I have 2 Canadien 270 saws now but there is a difference about the fuel tank.
Can someone tell what this is ? The Yellow Canadien doesn't have it. Is it a breather ?
Looking forward to someone shedding some light on this.
Cheers
