I have a big figured maple on the property on the olympic peninsula. Is there anyone here on this site that can give me a contact info to someone that buys maple trees and comes an removes them. They bring the cash they take the tree an mess away. Thanks for any help!

There is a guy who advertises on CL.
Also a “live edge Mill” near Where I live in Duval.
He’s also on CL. Try Entering Maple lumber, timber wanted, live edge etc...

You’ll need more than a handful of trees for the full service you seek.
Don’t expect stump grinding and branch removal.
There are guys though who will be seeking maples...

The figure in these big westerns is usually in compressed trees.
Longer trunks with heavy top growth.
Big diameter Leaners on sharp slopes.
Anything where the weight of the tree is stressing the lower (older) region of wood with uneven or extreme weight.

From the distance of the image, The tree you posted has a relatively small height support for a mostly even distribution up top.
It’s large diameter but also heavily segmented.
Those segments rarely stay together when cut.
There won’t likely be “much” heavy wide figure wood in this tree. (Imo)

Usually.
Maple makes good firewood. The uppers on that tree will yield nicely and the lower “stump” is managable to haul.
That stump is your potential money-wood if it stays together and has some interest.
Inspect the outer bark for ripples on all your trees.
If you see some, expect some compression flames in those areas.
Always worth a look.
Trees can surprise you sometimes once opened up.
Good luck!

This has been my exact experience with maple. When we go mill it we look specifically for large diameter trunk with ripples and steep slope trees.
