Porting a JRed 670 (little help please)

Had to do a little modification to this area. The 630 case does not have the boss for carb support. Was able to drill and insert a Timesert with red Loctite. Modified bracket by trimming and JB Welding a steel sleeve to extend its position.

Got cover trimmed and put on. Also had to do a little massaging elsewhere as a 670 cover is different that 630.

I like it. What did you end up doing with the porting?

Left it at 74 to see how it does. Than im gonna trim a fuzz and try. Once i like ill put the new piston in.

I like the idea of putting a timesert in the case to support the carb. I just tapped the hole on that 61 and it has worked it's way lose, not enough meat below the elbow to hold it. I'll be putting a threaded insert in mine and maybe some JB weld on the underside.

I have not gotten to run ither of them. Too many irons in the fire right.
