Turns out that my parts saw has TWO of them.

But no duckbill....unless there's one in the oil tank.
And no brass plug.

So this $25 beat up old 3800 that has a few issues
turned out to be a bargain in parts.
Already got the two pronged vent line parts. And the muffler bolt that I needed. Along with the chain adjuster bolt that I needed.
And I think the p&c to go on the 3400 look good so far. Is this a thick ring?
Looks thicker than what I remember the 3.7 has.

Just route the vent to a clean air location, you'll be fine.

Correct the 3800 is a thick ring and the 3700 is a thin ring. You will also find that the thin ring 3700 has a little better compression too.

Getting some saws ready to go. Sold the PP330 and used 60cc topend kit.

Funny seeing 60cc cylinder when it came in. Could see the carbon building up around the exhaust port and trying to stick the ring.

Also trading PP365 and poulan 3500 60cc project saws that scored. Just from my quick looking both had cracked impulse lines.

Getting some D009 bars in trade 24" Tsu LW 050 and a jonsered 24" 058 oregon powermatch with new LGX that been sharpened once I am told. Dont know if I am going to keep the bars. Maybe a collector type would want the jonsered bar?

Looking at Ebay, there is a 3400 and 3700 for sale at what I think are fairly high prices. Totally repainted and rebuilt. Great job but no info on how they run or oil. Would make great shelf Queens. Also saw a

Bob, agreed. They look nice for sure. However, aren't 3700's supposed to have a flat black air filter cover with built in louvers for more air flow as opposed to (standard) painted covers? I read somewhere on AS that a Tim Allen 3750 recently went for large dollars in nearly mint condition on eBay. I have one but would never believe it's worth large dollars, even though it's nice. Sometimes I think people get a hyper inflated idea of what a saw is really worth. Not throwing stones, but it applies across the saw spectrum and beyond. Hope I'm making sense. Then there's the purchaser. Max.
