My quick look shows the R8 bearing to be 5/16" wide. I need no more then 1/4" wide.

Then I see a R8 listed that is 1/4" wide. Go figure. https://www.vxb.com/R8-Open-Bearing-1-2-x1-1-8x1-4-inch-p/r8-open-bearing.htm

Then a S5K bearing https://www.vxb.com/S5K-Open-Bearing-1-2-x1-1-8x1-4-inch-p/s5k-open-bearing.htm

I had a look at the NSK catalog and the R8 bearing they list is .5 X 1.125 X .25 Another R8 is 5/16" so I'm assuming they come in both sizes.

If you have the inclination, you will find the R8 on page B7 of this NSK catalog. The bearing weighs .040 lbs or 18.1 grams

Yeah thats what I was finding too, strange they list both sizes by that same number.

I will probably be ordering some seals soon anyway so I will probably just use the local supplier Chris and I get most of our seals and bearings from. They always treat us pretty good.

Not really, they seem to come out on their own. 4200 piston

Lol, it was like that when I got it. Only needed the case and rear handle. Was gonna put the p/c up just in case but oh well. Still have a few good spare parts, some are trashed but useable if need be.

This is the saw you made me the cover knob for, looks sweet on it.

Today it was sunny, no wind, and a high of 65. The neighborhood was humming with the usual sounds of outdoor spring cleaning. I did some work with the Home Depot saw on the overgrown lilacs. Great little saw, 40cc and 14” bar. Powerful yet quiet, the neighbors appreciate that. 56E464AC-ECEB-43E4-B9D9-DF2CA4581B0C.jpeg

Got cleaned up, ate lunch, then went out to the shop to tinker on the 5200.

Swapped out the rim sprocket so I could run the 32 inch .404 pitch Mac bar I had. Full skip square ground chain.

Haven’t put it in wood yet. But I’m sure it will have no problem

I like my cs400, running the "18 bar with muff mod. After doing the mod and retuning, like running a totally different saw. It really woke it up, it's my main dropping saw and my wild thing is it's backup. The bigger Poulans come out for the bucking.
