Project saws without model tags

I tried searching but did not find much info... I have a lead on a few Husky 550XP project saws that were straight gassed on their first tank (basically new) and then went back to the dealer. The dealer removed the model number tags, presumably as part of warranty or replacement work.

How do you value the parts saw and repaired saws in this condition? Or is this a deal breaker? I would of course disclose the missing tag when selling, which I presume causes a reduction in value.

They would be easy projects mechanically but I'm not sure I want to bite.

It is common for warrantied saws to have the tag removed. As long as you're up front and maybe provide some documentation from the dealer the value shouldn't be too far from market price, especially for someone looking to build for personal use.
